Tamworth

Flix in the Stix

**VENUE CHANGE - FLIX TAMWORTH**

Although not raining yet in Tamworth, all our most trusted forecast sources say it will be later this morning and for the remainder of the day and so, for this reason, we have decided to move tonight's event indoors.

The event will now be staged at:

THE TRACKSIDE SHED
Tamworth Showground
Showground Rd.
Tamworth

Entry is from Gate 3 on Showground Rd.

Gates will still open at 6pm. Tickets will still be available at the door from this time.

Essentially everything else remains the same ie. its our same Flix event but now with a roof over our heads. Patrons can still pack a picnic plus there will be pizza available on-site. Patrons should now bring a chair (if they were thinking of just bringing a picnic blanket) as the floor is a hard surface. Its important to note that as per the Terms & Conditions, no refunds will be offered due to this change in venue.

INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM FESTIVAL + LIVE MUSIC + THE SPOKEN WORD

That's right - we're back with a brand new batch of what we think are some of the best short films around. Australian film industry heavyweight, NASH EDGERTON, fresh from winning the 2012 Tour audience vote for his short - BEAR, has curated an impressive collection of shorts worthy of belly laughs, ooohs & aaahs, an odd tear and possibly even a standing ovation - but you'll be the judge of that! So come & join us at Bicentennial Park for a truly magical night out.

Joining the party will be one of Australia's most celebrated bands, 3 x ARIA award winning artists, THE WHITLAMS. Tim Freedman & the boys will perform an intimate outdoor set quite unlike anything you've ever heard. We can't wait to see you try & resist clearing out the vocals for some of THE WHITLAMS most loved chorus'.

Back by popular demand in 2013 is our spoken word artist, larrikin bush poet, MURRAY HARTIN, who proved poetry, when done well, is a genuine (& hilarious) art form. Muz will have you in stitches & tears as he provides us with his own unique view on everything from mid-air turbulence to understanding women and everything else in between.

And if that wasn't enough excuse to dust of your picnic basket and unfurl the tartan rug, we'll be opening the event with one of Tamworth's brightest musicians - soon to be announced.

So gather up your family and friends as this is one event not to be missed. There really is nothing quite like dining out under the stars at an Optus Flix in the Stix event.

We'd love to keep you in the loop with all the latest news and announcements so please sign up for our newsletter (up there on the right) or start liking us on Facebook.
